2020?

In order to relive what may have been a decisive moment in our history, I viewed some videos from 2016 election night and noted the looks and expressions of devastation on the part of those so determined to see a woman President that they supported the most vindictive, hate filled and glaringly flawed candidate of modern times   Clearly her faults were, to them, virtues. It was a cruel rebuff for her but she had been merciless to those who crossed her when she was Co-President.  Consider the White House Travel Office worker who had to defend himself at some little cost, personal and financial, against the frivolous and unsuccessful prosecution of him leveled at Hillary's order at government expense.  And I sincerely hope that Paula Jones, Linda Tripp, Juanita Broaddrick and all other savaged at Hillary's behest took some deserved personal comfort at seeing her lifelong dream extinguished. They know especially well what misuse she would have made of a return to our White House.

She could have been elected and so, surely,  can a woman free of her determination to be avenged of the real America ( a Republican like Joni Ernst maybe?); that was proven by her winning of the popular vote.  True, that win is completely attributable to her predictable success in lala land NY and California (in which case the Electoral College did its job)but someone somewhat less obviously disdainful of  the vast benighted majority of Americans (those "deplorables", oh my, my, my, Hill!) might have snuck in, as did Slick Willy and the deceitful Marxist. What does this say about the Dem's plans for 2020? Why they'll be right back at it.

Its certain Dems are working on the assumption, just as they "knew" Hillary would win, that President Trump will be in office for an absolute maximum of four years. Their vicious onslaught on him for the last year is an all out effort to finish him. Anything beyond a Radical Restoration in 2021 is completely beyond their ken. They fully expect the President to self destruct.  Being that they are so confident we can reasonably predict that they will recklessly nominate one who floats their far leftist boat, one as politically correct and  contemptuous of us all as Hillary was.  The one most likely (at least until the electoral debates, when he would be unable to repress his sneers) to disingenuously portray himself as "just one of us" would be Joe Biden but the Dems will not think themselves constrained to resort to one as, well, traditional as he.

No, while they are at it, they might as well nominate such as Kamala Harris or Liz Warren ( hell, since they cannot but triumph, why not go for Van Jones?).

If they were to make gains in 2018 they would be further emboldened and whenever that happens they always act as if the secular Millenium is close at hand.  One could almost hope that they temporarily regain the House, ( at least the House can't block a Supreme Court nominee), assuring as it does the restoration of Madame Speaker and a hilarious cascade of pompous pronunciamentos from her.  It would be a telling reminder of what"Democrat" party ascendency always means: another step on the road to totalitarianism.  And it would help to advance a second term for our good President. Wise words! A Democratic House probably would work to the advantage of President Trump. Then again, as I've argued before, a Democratic failure to take the House would cause endless sniping on the left, and that too would be helpful... I suspect you're right that the Dems will take a left turn in 2020. The true believers will accept nothing less!

Dr. Waddy: Let's hope they have been captured by the far left; I certainly think they have been. The more it asserts itself the more the now aroused real America will react. And they are so very convinced of their essential, unassailable justice that they are constitutionally (so to speak)incapable of objectively considering the possibility that we are right and that they have been unimaginably wrongheaded since 1965. Just as the British and Americans could not, until we had been battered into realization, accept the possibility that the Japanese were formidable fighters, the far left which surely dominates the Dem party cannot bring itself to consider that we are for real and that we (and especially our canny President) may have their number. May they languish in that misapprehension until we put them out to pasture.
