In Andy Cuomo's world, which consists of his fief and the irredeemable nether regions of flyover country, including those in the Princely State of NY, disarming and excoriating the lawful and excusing the murderous are salient virtues. Too, 5000 years of real world experience with marriage are fit only to be airily dismissed. He does have his standards though; they consist solely in what HE thinks just. All else is dross - dust - by definition beneath contempt and well deserving of the tender kiss of his disdainful foot and of lip curling scorn projected from his narcissistic and detached countenance with the stentorian eloquence of which his voluminous and well used mouth is most capable.
The latest from his NYC palace is that he would fain make it a serious offense in his vassaldom to "incite riot against protected classes". And what Andy "fains", he gets, by the mark! "Protected classes" : aside from the obvious problem that term presents to the continuance of equal protection by the laws in our benighted union, it also strongly suggests that there are "unprotected classes". I seem to remember Lenin too talking about "classes" in a manner which proved lethal to many, many classes indeed. Though far be it from me to imagine I know the minds of my betters, I might think what our Prince really means to say is:"if you are one of the unprotected and you criticize one who is of the protected or if you criticize anyone who lauds one of the protected or her class or if you propose any action contrary to that which is purposed by anyone in a protected class, you will be denounced and after the customary auto da fe, legally immolated for inciting riot". Now we all know that it is customary for aristocracy to speak to us only in allusions so Andy cannot really say what he means without committing blatant gauchery.
I do fear that in Andy's ken though, it is impossible for protected classes to incite riot against unprotected classes. Mayhem fomented by the former and those who ride it to power is unquestionably righteous. It is reasonable to assume then that his proposed law is meant to advance causes he presumes inherent merely in being a member of a protected class and to thwart any political effort by unprotected classes which excites his eclectic antipathy.
Of course Andy's, uh, expansive view of his wisdom and influence necessitated his holding forth with dispatch on the Charlottesville incident. I would venture to guess, that in the Prince's fevered estimation there can be NOTHING acceptable about suggesting it might not be advisable to destroy a Confederate memorial or, heaven help us, make an effort to protect it. Similarly, it is inarguably right to make haste to destroy such obvious abominations at will and with a vengeance too! Thus Andy's present princely declaration.
But then, there is that always pesky Constitution. Well, the last Democrat President did not suffer it to cramp his style; Andy may himself "dream upon the Crown . . . but yet I know not how to get the Crown". No and neither does anyone else know how to get it for him - he has as much chance of being elected President as Kim Jong Un has of completing the epic 100 yard dash (though Kim would do well to practice it).
